Kingdom County Presents
is a new KCP initiative aimed at:

Presenting world-class music, theater, and dance at a range of venues, with a primary commitment to Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. Past and future presentations include Ed Asner in FDR, The Second City Comedy Troupe, Russian National Ballet’s Swan Lake, The Acting Company’s A Comedy of Errors, and concerts by Rosanne Cash, Bettye LaVette, James Montgomery, and Kris Kristofferson. Produced in association with Catamount Arts.

Touring selected artists to multiple venues throughout the state. Recent examples include singer songwriter Anais Mitchell (to Marlboro College and Burlington’s Flynn Theater), and performance artist and former Daily Show correspondent Lauren Weedman (to Marlboro, Middlebury, Lyndonville, and Burlington).

Commissioning original performing arts events that can tour the region. Examples include: Abby Paige’s solo performance rendering 10 Franco-Vermont characters, Piecework: When We Were French (to Montpelier, Marlboro, Burlington, and Middlebury) and Ojibwa playwright Drew Taylor Hayden’s Native American comedy/drama, Only Drunks and Children Tell the Truth (to Burlington, St. Johnsbury, and Marlboro).

Producing the Queen City Radio Hour and other new performance and media. The Queen City Radio Hour combines radio drama, comedy, spoken word performance, and world-class music to entertain live audiences through the region, followed by broadcast on Vermont Public Radio. ALSO, short radio bits for placement in and around regional news and information programming.
